History of the song :
Gloomy Sunday - The Suicide Song
Gloomy Sunday - the notorious 'Hungarian Suicide Song' - was written in 1933. Its melody and original lyrics were the creation of Rezs?Seress, a self-taught pianist and composer born in Hungary in 1899.

The crushing hopelessness and bitter despair which characterised the two stanza penned by Seress were superseded by the more mournful, melancholic verses of Hungarian poet L醩zl?J醰or.

When the song came to public attention it quickly earned its reputation as a 'suicide song'. Reports from Hungary alleged individuals had taken their lives after listening to the haunting melody, or that the lyrics had been left with their last letters.

The lyricists Sam M. Lewis and Desmond Carter each penned an English translation of the song. It was Lewis's version, first recorded by Hal Kemp and his Orchestra, with Bob Allen on vocals (1936), that was to become the most widely covered.

The popularity of Gloomy Sunday increased greatly through its interpretation by Billie Holiday (1941). In an attempt to alleviate the pessimistic tone a third stanza was added to this version, giving the song a dreamy twist, yet still the suicide reputation remained. Gloomy Sunday was banned from the play lists of major radio broadcasters around the world. The B.B.C. deemed it too depressing for the airwaves.

Despite all such bans, Gloomy Sunday continued to be recorded and sold.

People continued to buy the recordings; some committed suicide.

Rezs?Seress jumped to his death from his flat in 1968.

X| okay.. after dat.. my other aunt went to look for their old photo albums also... when they were young.. damn it was funny!! i saw my mum and my dad.. and also my "young" aunts and uncles.. then they were laughin at each other.. teasing each other.. oh joy.. wat a nice mother side family ^-^...

"eiw!! also duno whether the banana is overnight bananas or not.. " yeah.. and at first she was like.. "eh!!! the banana can eat 1 ah?".. yes.. and our reactions r ----> -.-"

yes.. danil's 3 cousins.. its quite a suprise when i found out.. we went to watch the GoF.. yeah!! cool.. again.. we were suppose to go for genki sushi but there were too many ppl... so we went to burger king instead.. had a great outing.. tho many of da aristotle didnt come.. sigh.. X( well.. it was fun.. wif danil's cousins too.. yeah..

we had trouble getting to her hse.. we ended up at this so called "haunted mansion".. altho we cant see and mansion.. hehe.. its juz realli spooky.. and finally we managed to find our way to yatie's beautiful white hse... hehe.. at 1st we found this yellow hse.. coz da yellow lights.. and we thought it was yatie's.. and yet its not coz its yellow.. =| hehehe... reached there.. everyone is hungry and so.. we eat!! hehehe.. good food.. yummy~ then chat then yatie, the camwhore started taking pics wif everybody.. hehe.. then everyone goes home.. and time for us [me, ling, alvin, danil n jer min] to go home too... :D its bout 11 plus adi.. so yeah.. i had to send them home.. yes.. this time its me.. not ling.. ME.. hehe.. [see.. i do send ppl home.. its juz dat i seldom do dat.. hehe..] we had a great time.. again.. altho we didnt do much.. yeah...

and i watched harry potter in da onli cinema ever in alor star.. sineplex ( da spelling is so.. un attractive! sheesh!).. it kinda sucks.. coz like... till half way.. da movie juz went blurr.. and uh... it went all white.. like u noe.. those kinda movies dat got cut off.. yeah.. dat type.. haih.. and da seat sucks.. me n my fren got bottoma-ache.. and also.. they didnt haf ani place to put our drinks! bloody hell!!!.. and i've got no comments bout da tickets.. they better built a GSC or a TGV in dat Alor Star Mall.. haih.. oh well.. gonna watch it again in 1u aniway.. i think.. coz ling haven watched it yet.. hehe... haih.. >.< u'll look good if u straighten ur hair.. and coz its easier to clean and blah blah blah.. hmm.. and my aunt was like.. oh realli?! then straighten lah!... haih... but i didnt! hehe... hmm.. on a second thought.. should i? hmm.. oh well.. coz i realize dat my hair will onli look nice if sum1 blowdry it.. ahh...

so.. aniway.. we stayed at shangri la hotel in shen zhen for 2 nites... and the marco polo hotel in hong kong for 2 nites... and lastly the disneyland hotel for 2 nites before we head bak to malaysia..

expensive place to be at.. shopping paradise for rich folks.. as it is connected wif dat duno-wats-da-name mall.. and its situated near shops like the giordano, hmv and all.. yeap.. in the mall.. me, ling, jiang, ling's mum and dad and uncle guang were suppose to go there to look for breakfast i think.. and then we ended up shopping.. sort of.. stayed almost half an hour in dat shop wif paul frank stuffs.. cool.. BD and ling's dad bought me a paul frank sweater!! hehe.. i owe ling's family alot.. XD oh.. and da sales gal gave us this paul frank sticker for free.. just julius' head.. and looked at da price.. its bout hkd 25.. expensive.. branded stuff everywhere in dat mall..

disneyland hotel..
first thing.. i luv their mickey-shaped waffle!!! its so cute and yummy!!! i remembered da last day in da disney hotel.. had a buffet breakfast in da "enchanted forest".. i took da mickey-shaped waffle.. and dat big mickey mascot juz came to me and started pointing at dat waffle.. i was like *in my heart*.. u do realize dat im gonna eat dat rite... hmm.. yeah.. i ate 3/4 of da head alreadi and then he came again... so i juz quickly stuff da rest into my mouth.. hehe.. yummy X) hmm.. we had dinner in dat "enchanted forest" da nite before.. hehe.. and they had sushi!! and also chocolate fountain.. :) and fresh seafood.. i didnt realli enjoy da chocolate fountain coz like.. i got sorethhrout.. haih.. and i wana try dat fresh oyster.. hmm.. coz like.. my couz really like them.. and like.. she chose for me da good one.. and she put dat stuff on it.. and i ate it.. i almost puked.. haihz.. and then onli she told me dat she forgotten to squeeze lemon on it.. haihz.. i juz tasted so uh.. bleh... :(

oh.. they composed a new song for da parade.. not bad though.. hehe except for da canto part.. yep. parade was realli short.. of all parades in disneylands around da world.. dats da suckiest all rite.. rides.. space mountain.. almost gave me a heart attack as i thought there is goin to be a big fall.. but oh well.. hehe.. i didnt had my specs on.. so everything i see is blurr.. so i juz decided to close my eyes coz i got a little dizzy looking at da light effects.. haihz.. and i didnt see dat stupid camera coming.. so they took my pic wif my eyes closed.. and ling normal for her.. and my mum and aunt.. screaming .. hehe... u noe.. dat kind of eyes close mouth opened wide.. hehe... jiang sat dat ride too.. and his face looked terrified.. da look he had when he get scared.. suprisingly he didnt cry.. so did jing wei.. and hao boy.. he sat next to jing hong.. so he was all like.. "get ready for da big fall!!" "are u ready for da big fall?!"... but in the end it didnt happen.. uncle guang sat dat ride.. he got dizzy and didnt wana sit it again.. my dad was laughin at him... oh well.. my parents seemed so.. happy and young and having fun like us... :| bah.. oh yah.. we sat dat buzz lightyear astro blasters thingy.. u noe.. wif dat gun lazer thingy.. hmm.. ling was like.. i cant believe we r sitting this!!! hehe.. it was quite fun hehe.. we went 2 rounds on dat thing.. and uhm.. i was in lvl 3 for da 1st round and lvl 5 for da 2nd 1.. hehe.. and ling.. she got lvl1 coz her score was 0 for da 1st round.. sumthing wrong wif da gun.. not working.. and 4000 points for da 2nd 1.. which i duno wats da lvl for dat.. hehe.. i shot sumthing and my points went up to 400000 plus.. cool... hehe... i got da highest among us.. yippeee!! X) and dat winnie da pooh ride is so cute!! they had a camera in it too.. and hao boy looked like he had nose bleed.. hehe.. coz of dat 2 pimples rite under his nostrils.. haha.. XD and u noe.. there r so little rides in da themepark till those stupid china ppl were even lining up for da merry-go-round.. damn stupid.. fighting wif kids for a stupid horse on da ride.. haih.. tsk tsk.. we had this jungle cruise thingy and our tour person's name is arthur.. and their lines dat they memorized is realli stupid and dumb.. and coz its stupid and dumb.. it funny.. hehe.. this guai lou lady was laughin her ass off... hmm... we didnt go to dat tarzan treehouse thingy.. haih.. oh well.. and i didnt get my pic taken wif marie!!! X( haih.. oh.. marie is so cute.!!! well.. she is da onli 1 dat jiang is not scared of.. hehe.. he was crying when mickey and gang approached him... so.. goofy tried the other way to get close to jiang.. but.. failed.. jiang saw him 1st and started crying.. hmm.. now.. popcorns.. they had lods of flavours for popcorns.. they had caramel.. peanut butter.. chocobanana... orange.. we tried all except dat chocobanana..
